A NEW RELEASE OF THE ORIGINAL MBD PART
1
AND AN ALTERNATIVE VERSION OF PART 1
ARE NOW AVAILABLE.
The
Update. In July, 2005 the MAA began distribution of
Release 1.5 of Mathematics for Business Decisions Part 1. This includes the following updates of the
original 2003 Release 1.0.
* A new version of the file Stock
Data.ppt is included. This
reflects changes made in the web sites for historical stock price data.
* All screen captures have been updated to
depict Office 2003 applications.
* The Class
Project for the project Stock Option Pricing has been
updated.
The
Alternative Version. An alternative version, Release 1.5a,
of Mathematics for Business Decision Part 1 is included with the
standard release. This uses the same Loan
Work Out project that is given in Release 1.5. The same mathematical and computer tools are
also presented. In the alternative version, the Stock Option
Pricing project has been replaced with a new project, Managing
ATM Queues. This applies
probability and computer simulation to the study of queue formation.
